Fishmarket Theatre Co.

The Three Sardines (Playwrights) are a few Fishmarket Theatre Co. fellows writing brand new works that are bold, sci-fi-inspired, multidisciplinary, and clown-based. Their pieces have been performed at the O’Neill Theater Center, the Ripped Bodice, and Odd Hours Theater Company. Current pieces in development include Airport Play (A Musical), Confession, and a mini-series, Another Space Oddity.

Nadiya Atkinson (Director; she/hers) is a director and visual artist from a houseplant and immigrant household. Her recent work employs tactility, bold patterns, and site-specificity to navigate her relationship with geography and community. Recent credits include: Insertion (Connelly Theater), Bipolar Badass (Theatre Row), Museum (Fishmarket Theatre Co.), Parking Lot Fairies (The Chain). She’s worked at Theatre for a New Audience producing the 360 Viewfinder dramaturgical publication and has been in arts administration at the O’Neill Theater Center, the Vineyard, Williamstown Theatre Festival, and Signature Theatre Company. Katherine Mostek (Production Manager; she/her) is a Brooklyn-based stage and production manager. She also serves as Fishmarket Theatre Co.’s production coordinator. Some of her favorite projects include Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf (Live Animals Onstage), Museum (Fishmarket Theatre Co.), and Dance Nation (Kenyon College). During the day, Katherine is an event planner and spreadsheet maker (her days and nights are not all that different from one another). She also enjoys crafting, watching TVv shows she’s already seen, and calling Nadiya at various hours of the night to interrupt her sleep. Katherine would like to thank her family and friends for their unending support on such an exciting project!

Raven Zhan (Lighting Designer) is a scenic and lighting designer in training, a Theatre & History double major, and a semi-senior at Williams College. Past Fishmarket credits: Museum, Insertion. A big fan of Nadiya Atkinson, who forced the team to watch The Show. Many thanks to Yaoi culture, which shaped my teenage years.

Jake Eisner (Sound Designer; he/him) is a musician and sound designer from New York City. Recent sound design credits include Museum and Insertion for Fishmarket Theatre Co. Associate sound design credits include A Christmas Carol (Alabama Shakespeare), The Tempest/King Lear (Juilliard), and Do Eye Know You? (Brown, upcoming). Music and assistant music direction credits include Eugene Onegin (Heartbeat Opera), Yemandja with Angélique Kidjo, Kinky Boots (Bucks County Playhouse), nellie/nellie (Antigravity Performance Project), and A Little Night Music (Williams College). He holds a BA in Music from Williams College.

Jasper Peter Pershing (Actor), a Los Angeles-based actor and writer, embarked on his artistic journey from a young age, shaped by his experiences as a queer Haitian American. His creative perspective and prospects were honed at Hampshire College and at The National Theater Institute, including a transformative period studying Shakespeare in London. With a diverse range of roles on both stage and screen, Jasper has brought characters like Macbeth (in Macbeth), Devin (an awkward gay teen in the film Outside), Mario (a disconnected black man fresh from a 10-year prison term in the stage play Stoop Pigeons), and Dereck (a confident basketball star secretly searching for another pathway into glory in the short film Finding Hope). Each role brought to life is approached with the same guiding question: "In what way does this character expand my own imagination?" Under guidance of mentors such as artist/educator Djola Branner, thúy le, and support from the Lin Manuel Miranda Family Foundation, Jasper continually pushes his artist boundaries and disciplines but chasing roles that intimidate him. His latest project, portraying Torque in CRINGE, promises to take audiences on a laugh-out-lout journey they won’t soon forget.

Stella Oh (Actor) is delighted to be making her debut with Fishmarket Theatre Co. in CRINGE! She has been involved in theatrical productions for the past six years, her most notable roles being Marya in Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812, G in Sanctuary City, Rain Cloud in Sometimes the Rain, Sometimes the Sea, and Tosh in Scenes with Girls. Currently, Stella is pursuing a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Theatre and Computer Science at Williams College (Class of 2025). She is super excited to be part of CRINGE and thanks everyone involved for making it possible. She hopes you enjoy the show!

Alice Zelenko (Actor) recently graduated from NYU Tisch Drama (The Classical Studio, Atlantic Acting School). Credits: Clue (West Virginia Public Theatre/Miss Scarlet), Parade (Lincoln Center), Titus Andronicus (La MaMa Experimental Theater), Who’s Afraid: A Dinner Party (Live Animals Onstage), The Holylanders (14th Street Y), Museum (Fishmarket Theatre), The Winter’s Tale (Paulina/The Classical Studio), These and Those (NY Theatre Festival), The Bacchae (Agave/Tisch Drama Stage), The 25th Annual Putnam… (International Thespian Festival), Wall! (Edinburgh Fringe). She’s a member of the sketch comedy group Enemies to Lovers and works as a teaching artist at Brooklyn Acting Lab.

Zoé Fonck (Actor) recently graduated from Sarah Lawrence College, during which she studied at the British American Drama Academy acting conservatory. Zoé is also a passionate theatre educator and has worked as a teaching artist with Lunchbox Outreach, the Denver Center, Gunnison Valley Theatre Festival, and Child’s Play NY. Recent acting credits: Macbeth (Sarah Lawrence), Flesh Fog (Sarah Lawrence, w/ Jillian Jetton), Julius Caesar (BADA); The Book of Will and The Koi Pond (Gunnison Valley Theatre Festival).

Francie Brewster (Actor) is delighted to be making her Fishmarket Theatre Co. Debut with CRINGE. She is a student at Williams College where she has recently acted in Eurydice among other productions with student theater group Cap & Bells. She also has interned at the 52nd Street Project.

Melia Hagino (Actor; she/they) is a comedian, writer, and actor based in Brooklyn, NY. When she isn’t writing scripts in bed or producing audiobooks for her day job, Melia can be found performing improv, sketch, and stand-up around NYC, and sometimes even acting in shows with Fishmarket Theatre Co. Recent performance credits include: Crystal Queer Stand-up (Queer and
Now Comedy), Tens Doing Fives (Queer and Now Comedy), Museum (Fishmarket Theatre Co.), and A Late Midsummer Night's Dream (Live Animals Onstage). As a queer Asian-American woman/comedian, Melia is focused on cultivating inclusive performance spaces for BIPOC and LGBTQ+ comedians in New York’s comedy scene. Michelle Kariuki (Actor; she/her) is a Brooklyn-based artist with Jersey roots. She graduated from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts with a BFA in Drama and a minor in Social and Public Policy. Since then, she has worked professionally in both theater and film and has featured in new works at NY theaters such as JACK, Ars Nova, Judson Memorial Church. This is her second time attending the Edinburgh Fringe Festival!!

Tom Robertshaw (Actor) is a writer and theater lover who lives in Brooklyn. He trained as an actor in college and has started to act again this year. College credits include Tartuffe, True West, Uncle Vanya, Oleanna. Recent credits: Tina Howe’s Museum produced by Fishmarket Theater Co. and Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf produced by Live Animals Onstage.
